Mechanical Coordinator Co-op Student, Head Office, Morriston, ON
Summary:
Reporting to the Mechanical Operations Manager, the successful candidate will interact with project site teams on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will display strong knowledge mechanical processes and standards, purchasing and with a demonstrated proven ability to coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors.
Job Description:
- Effectively interact with other key NAC jobsite personnel working in a team environment
- Planning and scheduling
- Mechanical contract drawings and specification interpretation
- Managing the contractor’s review of shop drawings and submittal’s to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
- Liaise with design firms to coordinate constructability, questions (RFI process) and the coordination of extra work
- Knowledge and use of project cost budgets including setting up and maintaining programs required to assist in ensuring that project budgets and forecasts are met
- Procurement of construction materials, equipment and tools in accordance with head office support departments
- All other duties, as assigned by your Project Manager
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering Registered Co-op program
- 1 year experience working in the construction industry is preferred
- Must be proficient in Microsoft software such as, Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Work effectively in a team environment and under high pressure
- Ability to multi-task
- High level of initiative and keen interest in technical problem solving
- Able to work with minimal supervision and reliable
- Willing to travel with NAC in Canada (in future) may present long term career opportunities
- Valid WHMIS and Health and Safety Awareness Training for workers/supervisors certificates are required
