The work at the Burlington Skyway Wastewater Treatment Plant consisted of a major retrofit expansion with the following additions; a new primary effluent channel, two aeration tanks, two secondary clarifiers, new mixed liquor channels, RAS pumping station, UV disinfection facility, blower building, new sludge dewatering equipment, new 250 HP raw sewage pump, new plant wide SCADA system, complete new & upgraded HVAC equipment and systems, complete new & upgraded electrical distribution equipment, extensive yard piping, and new chemical equipment and systems. The renovation work included; retrofit of six aeration tanks to step feed, complete overhaul of four traveling bridge clarifiers, upgrades to the complete digester gas system, waste gas burner replacement, digester gas proofing and roof repair, upgrades to the blower facility, boiler replacement, and an extension to the sludge handling building.

The work also included modifications to; eight secondary clarifiers, primary influent channels and HVAC systems throughout the complex. Temporary pumping and standby generators were required throughout the execution process to ensure uninterrupted plant operations at all times. A very complex project requiring very detailed scheduling and co-ordination with plant operators.
