Foreman (Working Mechanical foreman) Winnipeg, MB

NAC is currently seeking 2 licensed Working Foremen (Plumber, Pipefitter or Millwright discipline) with experience supervising up to 10 employees, ordering materials, etc., for our South End Water Pollution Control Centre project in Winnipeg, MB.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Mechanical Superintendent you will be responsible for laying out, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing piping systems. This position requires knowledge of the heavy construction industry.  Specifically the practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control and safety associated with this industry. 

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed Plumber, Pipefitter or Millwright with working Foreman experience (leading up to 10 mechanical tradespeople)
  • Experience installing equipment (pumps and related water & wastewater equipment) is an asset
  • 4-5 years experience working on large scale heavy construction projects 
  • Must possess layout skills
  • Ability to interpret contract drawings and vendor install drawings
  • Precision equipment installation skills
  • Must possess pipefitting skills for 2" to 20"pipe 
  • Experience with large bore PVC piping, soldering, victaulic, threading, s/s and pipe
  • Experience ordering mechanical materials
  • Hoisting & Rigging skills are considered an asset
  • Must be able to take clear direction and work independently
  • Ability to lead other mechanical tradespeople, monitor quality of work and ensure safety
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
  • Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current
  • Valid WHMIS, Fall Arrest , Aerial Work Platform and Confined Space  are required
  • Ability to travel with NAC in Canada may provide long term employment opportunities
