Careers at NAC

CLAC Union & PCA Affiliation

NAC’s success is rooted in our strong relationships with all stakeholders and trades. This close-knit collaboration ensures we consistently meet budgets, maintain the highest quality of execution, uphold safety standards, and adhere to timelines, delivering exceptional service to our clients. We can partially provide this because of our affiliations with CLAC and PCA.

  • Christian Labour Association of Canada

NAC employs trade workers who are members of CLAC, Canada’s largest national and independent multisector union, on an hourly basis. The union applies social principles of justice, respect, and dignity to the workplace community. Since 1952, it has provided quality representation, a wide range of benefits and training for its members, and advocacy that strives to build healthy work communities based on mutual respect and partnership.

CLAC is unique in its cooperative and mutually self-serving design. It allows us to provide clients with a competent, loyal, and highly mobilized workforce accustomed to working in crews ranging from a dozen to hundreds. The spirit of the CLAC and NAC agreements is to use a cooperative approach to labour issues, which allows the workforce to perform all trade activities. It’s common to see different trades helping each other on any given day. It’s a dynamic that must be witnessed to be believed.

NAC has negotiated a fair and competitive wage for each union agreement, including an excellent benefits package that attracts and retains exceptionally qualified tradespeople. Please note that non-working forepersons and administrative, technical, and management personnel do not form part of the CLAC union. For more information, visit www.clac.ca.

  • The Progressive Contractors Association of Canada

NAC is a proud Progressive Contractors Association of Canada (PCA) member. PCA represents unionized employers in Canada’s construction industry who believe in progress and modernization. These employers, primarily represented by the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC), employ more than 20,000 skilled workers nationwide. They follow a unique set of labour relations practices based on four principles: honesty, transparency, respect, and cooperation between the employer and employees. These practices also focus on enhancing productivity using open-site labour practices while ensuring the highest safety standards are maintained in the construction workplace.

PCA works towards promoting a legislative framework and industry practices that ensure fair access to work opportunities for all construction industry participants. This helps in creating a level playing field for everyone in the industry. For more information, visit https://www.pcac.ca/
