Co-op Project Coordinator - Richmond, BC

NAC is currently seeking a fall Co-op Student 'Project Coordinator', local to our IONA Island Dewatering Facility project in Richmond, BC.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide project coordination services to the project management team and Head Office departments on a regular basis.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Effectively interact with other key NAC jobsite personnel working in a team environment
  • Document Control
  • Assist in planning and scheduling
  • Review contract drawings and specification
  • Coordinate the contractor’s review of shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
  • Liaise with design firms to assist in the coordination of constructability, questions (RFI process) and the coordination of additional work
  • Assist with project cost budgets and maintain programs to meet projected forecasts
  • Procurement of construction materials, equipment and tools in concurrence with head office support departments
  • Coordination and instruction of all subcontractors under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Superintendent
  • Participate in become knowledgeable with NAC'S Health & Safety policies and procedures, as per the roles and responsibilities within the HSE Manual.

The successful Candidate Will Possess:

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering technical program (registered co-op program)
  • Available for a 4 month co-op placement or longer
  • Some construction experience is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft software such as Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and problem solving skills
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision
  • The ability to travel with NAC in Canada may provide future employment opportunities
