Steps for Life - Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy
On May 2nd & 3rd, a community of NAC employees, along with their family members and friends, came together to participate in the Steps for Life 5km Walk.
Steps for Life is a fundraiser for Threads of Life, which provides support programs and services for individuals and families impacted by workplace fatalities, life-altering injuries, and occupational disease, reinforcing the importance of preventing future incidents. This year 36 communities across Canada participated in events both in person and online to raise awareness.
Thousands of Canadians are affected by workplace injuries each year and on average 3 people lose their lives daily as a result of workplace incidents. The impact of these tragedies are felt far and wide and NAC is committed to advocating for workplace safety everyday.
Our NAC employees stepped up and the response from across Ontario and the West Coast was truly outstanding. The level of participation and enthusiasm shown by everyone involved speaks volumes about our values and commitment to supporting safety in the workplace.
Whether participants walked, donated, or helped spread the word, every contribution played an important role in making a difference. We were proud to exceed our fundraising goal and raised $4600 to support this cause.
We look forward to participating annually in this event in our effort to continue to raise awareness and support those affected by workplace tragedy.
