NAC Project Featured on the Cover of Environmental Science & Engineering Magazine
We're proud to share that one of our recent projects—the Decew Falls Water Treatment Plant intake upgrade—has been featured on the cover of the latest issue of Environmental Science & Engineering (ES&E) Magazine. The article, written by representatives from the Region of Niagara and R.V. Anderson Associates, highlights the technical improvements made to the raw water intake facility, including mechanical upgrades, screening system enhancements, and building infrastructure modernization.
The feature covers NAC’s role in constructing a new debris management system designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance demands for plant operators. Our team delivered a range of upgrades including:
- Installation of floating debris booms and thru-flow travelling screens
- Screening handling conveyors for easier waste removal
- Mechanical and electrical replacements
- Structural and architectural upgrades that align with the main facility
- SCADA integration for improved system control
The project was completed in the spring of 2024 and has already resulted in reduced manual cleaning, enhanced equipment performance, and greater operational confidence for plant staff.
This recognition is a testament to the collaboration between NAC, R.V. Anderson Associates, and the Region of Niagara, and to the continued excellence of our teams working across Canada.
