Anzac Wastewater Treatment Plant
The Anzac Wastewater Treatment Plant involved the construction of a new municipal wastewater treatment plant and truck unloading station.
The headworks building included a coarse screen, grit removal, and fine screen process.
A separate building contained the following wastewater treatment equipment:
- Dissolved air flotation (DAF)
- Biological tanks
- Membrane filters
- Chemical handling equipment
- UV disinfection and solids dewatering.
A laboratory and control room is also located here. Unloaded waste passes through a rock trap before entering the equalization basin. Wastewater stored in the equalization basin is mixed and aerated to maintain solids in suspension and prevent the wastewater from going anaerobic.
The intersection widening of the Nexen Access Road and Highway 881 along with lighting was also included as part of the scope of this contract.
