Commissioning

North America Construction’s (NAC) self-performed commissioning services provide a structured and reliable approach to project startup, specifically designed for the unique demands of complex water and wastewater treatment facilities. Our robust Commissioning Management System (CMS) has been refined through over 115 plant startups across Canada, incorporating industry best practices and continuous improvements. The CMS includes detailed checklists, flow charts, and standardized forms to guide the commissioning process, ensuring precise documentation, efficient turnover, and full client satisfaction.

Our commissioning approach involves creating tailored Facility Commissioning Plans (FCPs) and Area/Equipment Commissioning Plans (AECPs) to meet the specific needs of each facility. These plans ensure that systems are rigorously tested and validated according to design and performance criteria. Commissioning Coordinators collaborate with project schedulers to integrate commissioning activities into the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule, aligning milestones with the overall project timeline for seamless execution. The commissioning team oversees equipment inspections, vendor start-ups, and functional and performance tests, verifying that all systems meet manufacturer standards, design specifications, and contractual obligations.

As part of the startup and turnover process, we provide training plans for operators, ensuring a smooth transition to plant operations. Our CMS also includes a structured warranty process, offering responsive support to any claims. We consolidate all commissioning data and reports into a comprehensive final Commissioning Report, providing the client with a thorough record of all activities and certifications. These services demonstrate our commitment to delivering a fully integrated, systematic, and reliable commissioning process, ensuring optimal performance and a smooth project handover.

Commissioning is a critical component of all projects at NAC. To learn how it fits into your project, please review our service areas or contact a member of our team.
