Arnprior Water Pollution Control Center Expansion
The Arnprior Water Pollution Control Plant project consisted of two digesters (one primary and one secondary), one gas control rooms, two duel fired natural gas and digester gas hot water boilers, one drip trap room, one flare (waste gas burner) and associated piping with controls.
The primary code used at the time to review and construct this plant was CAN/CGA-B105-M93. NAC’s mechanical department procured, installed, commissioned, coordinated the TSSA field approval program, and received final sign off from TSSA.
The Arnprior WPCC expansion project has increased treatment capacity from 7,900m3/day to 9,700 m3/day by constructing additional, Primary, Aeration, Secondary and Chlorine Contact process tanks.
Other modifications required within the existing plant included:
- A second automated inlet screen
- A third aeration blower
- Additional pumps (grit/R.A.S/scum/sludge)
- Updating to the current SCADA/administration area.
New work included:
- A 700 lineal meter outfall sewer
- A Digestion/ Bio-solids management building complete with a centralized odour treatment system for the entire plant.
