Lulu Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Stage IV Expansion

The Lulu Island WWTP Expansion required extensive de-watering to execute the foundation work. As part of the overall civil work, NAC was required to establish new pre-load areas for future plant facilities.

NAC’s scope of work also included the demolition of existing structures at the new solids contact tank location. The 16 month contract completion period was extended due to constructibility issues incurred during the installation of the Owner’s supplied clarifier equipment. The Owner extended the contract completion date by 4 months which was accepted by all parties.

NAC completed the overall static and dynamic testing including the system start-up and commissioning of each of the project components incorporating NAC’s Commissioning Management System.

NAC, Metro Vancouver Project Management staff, Plant Operational staff and the Design Consultant all worked in a cooperative positive professional relationship in order to deliver this project successfully.
