Port Maitland Low Lift Pumping Station
The Port Maitland Low Lift Pumping Facility (LLPF) work consisted of the demolition of the primary treatment station and the addition of an new electrical room to the existing low lift pumping station.
The new electrical room included a new MCC to replace the existing Motor Control Centre (MCC) from the main floor of the demolished treatment plant. Further additions included a new transformer, new generator, replacement of four vertical turbine pumps, three x 5ML/d vertical turbine pumps, one x 4.1ML/d vertical turbine pump, one booster pump package complete with three x 7.5 HP/70 m3/hour pumps, suction/intake piping, discharge piping, and controls, process piping modifications, removal of a portion of existing header and installation of blind flange, and installation of a new header.
The project also required modifications to the existing yard piping, construction of a new raw water supply pipe, connection to a new 300mm raw watermain and flow meter chamber, and other remedial site works.
