Red Deer Clearview Booster Pumping Station

The Clearview Booster Station upgrade consisted of the complete removal of the existing mechanical, electrical and process equipment. This included the removal of five vertical turbine pumps, an emergency natural gas pump and all associated piping and electrical services.

The new installation included:

• Four new 125HP vertical split case pumps
• A stand-by generator set and automatic transfer switch
• New Instrumentation and PLC
• The addition of a building and extension of the driveway together with all associated pipe work, electrical and distribution equipment and HVAC.

All replacements were done within the same confined workspace area as the existing and functional equipment, and no existing process system was shut down for a duration greater than 16 hours during the transition to the new equipment.
