Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Secondary Clarifier Mechanism Replacement
The Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Secondary Clarifier Mechanism Upgrade was an ambitious upgrade to enhance the plant’s secondary clarifiers.
Key elements of this transformation centered around the comprehensive replacement of the secondary clarifier mechanisms for units No. 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12. This renewal was closely followed by the introduction of flow balancing gates, optimizing the flow distribution across Secondary Clarifiers No. 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
The project also saw a meticulous replacement of effluent launders and weirs for all twelve secondary clarifiers. Complementing these hardware modifications, a trio of level measuring instruments was strategically positioned in each of the twelve Secondary Clarifiers. This move ensured heightened precision and monitoring capabilities.
On the technological front, the installation and rigorous testing of advanced electrical, instrumentation, and control components became a project hallmark.
Concrete work was another significant facet, with bonded concrete toppings replaced for several clarifiers, specifically units No. 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12. In tandem, additional concrete was supplied and positioned for the topping of these specified clarifiers.
The project’s comprehensive scope also encompassed the removal and subsequent replacement of electrical and instrumentation cables for Secondary Clarifiers No. 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
Every modification and addition resonated with the project’s overarching goal: optimizing the treatment plant’s efficiency and reliability for the years to come.
