Arbutus Attenuation Tank

The Arbutus Attenuation Tank Project included a new access driveway, site drainage and facilities, sanitary sewers, watermains and an attached valve/meter chamber.

The project also included off-site works which consist of improvements to the road frontage on Arbutus Road.

The on-site components of the work are generally described as follows:

  • Clearing, grubbing and preparation; water service
  • Tank valve chamber
  • Construction of sewers and tie-ins including bypass pumping
  • Removal of abandoned sewer infrastructure
  • Secant pile installation and shoring
  • Structure excavation
  • Rock blasting
  • Rock anchors
  • Reinforced concrete structure; process mechanical systems including piping, cleaning system, sump pumps and air compressor system
  • Building mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, plumbing and odour control system; electrical systems including power supply and distribution, motor control centre, variable frequency drives, lighting, and generator plug-in receptacle
  • Controls, instrumentation, programming and SCADA integration
  • Site grading and site drainage works
  • Landscaping
  • Access driveway and parking areas.

The off-site components of the work included:

  • Arbutus Road frontage improvements
  • Existing asphalt removal
  • Earthwork grading
  • Subgrade preparation
  • Asphalt roadway and line painting
  • Asphalt bicycle lane and line painting
  • Concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter; storm water infrastructure
  • Infiltration swales
  • Bus stop and signage.
