307 - Lakeshore WWTP Pump Station No 2

Lakeshore Wastewater Treatment Plant Pump Station No. 2

The Lakeshore Wastewater Treatment Plant Sewage Pump Station No. 2 included a complex package involving the total excavation of 12.875m to the u/s of the wet well slab.

The wet well shaft was shored by a pile and lag box structure, that was 6m wide x 18m long x 9m deep with an area of 432m2.

The Gallery structures on either side of the wet well had an excavation depth of 3.875m. The excavation required a robust dewatering system to deal with the water levels. The concrete building structure had 750m3 of concrete and consisted of an influent chamber that houses a manual bar screen.

The wet well has 5 pumps, 2 slide gates, ladders, platforms and miscellaneous piping and process equipment. The Chambers house the process valves, piping, access stairs, HVAC and electrical equipment.

The electrical building is a masonry structure with a precast roof that will house the elec¬trical equipment, MCC, PLC, and HVAC equipment and providing access to the valve chambers.

The yard works included the construction of 240m of twin force mains 500mm dia. that were constructed from the new pumping station to the existing Lakeshore Wastewater Treatment plant.

The new pump station was landscaped including all storm water management works.
