271 - Britannia East WW Pumping Station

Britannia East & Derry Green Regional Servicing & Britannia Road Wastewater Pumping Station

The Britannia Road Wastewater Pumping Station involved the construction of a new 1,000 l/s (86.4 MLD) wastewater pumping station.

The project also included an overflow discharge and a micro-tunneled installation of 3 x 450mm forcemains under the Sixteen Mile Creek and bridge crossing, with two stubs for future 450mm forcemains.

New regional service mains were also installed utilizing open-cut construction along the Fifth Line Road. These mains included approximately 550m of 375mm diameter wastewater main, 400m of 450mm diameter wastewater main, 800m of 525mm diameter wastewater main and 600m of 675mm diameter wastewater main at depths of approximately 10 meters deep.

The water mains and sewers along Fifth Line Road were approximately 1700m of 600mm diameter watermain and 2700m of 750mm diameter watermain at depths of approximately 5 meters deep.

The water mains along Louis St. Laurent were approximately 160m of 600mm diameter watermain, 200m of 750mm diameter watermain at depths of approximately 3 to 5 meters deep.

The new regional wastewater mains were installed by trenchless technologies (MTBM/Jack & Bore) along Britannia Road, James Snow Parkway, Louis St. Laurent Avenue Extension and Fifth Line Road (approximately 3000m of 900Ømm wastewater main and 2300m of 1500Ømm wastewater main) at depths of approximately 10m to 25m deep.

New wastewater mains and watermain were also installed by trenchless technologies along Fifth Line Road and were approximately 100m of 450mm diameter wastewater main and 130m of 675mm diameter wastewater main at depths of approximately 10 meters deep.
