Clarkson Wastewater Treatment Plant
The Clarkson Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion was a major capacity expansion to the existing live treatment facility serving the city of Mississauga, ON and involved $78 million of detailed and phased construction over a 30-month period.
The liquid phase of the project consisted of over 29,000 cubic meters of concrete, 4,000 tons of rebar, 133,500 cubic meters of excavation, and 320,000 total combined civil, mechanical & electrical manhours of labour productivity.
The overall scope of work involved the addition of the following structures and processes:
- 3 new chain and flight primary clarifiers
- 3 new fine bubble aeration tanks
- A new blower building
- 3 new chain and flight secondary clarifiers
- A new phosphorus removal facility
- 2 new bio-filters complete with odourus air collection systems
- Modifications to the existing aeration basins
- Mechanical, process and electrical systems to provide function¬ality to the structures
- A new high voltage substation and electrical distribution system
NAC self-performed all civil, mechanical and electrical works for this project.
