NAC Project Nominated for ACEC-BC Award of Excellence

NAC is proud to have served as General Contractor on the recently completed Tofino Wastewater Treatment Plant and Conveyance System, which was nominated for an Award of Excellence by the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – British Columbia (ACEC-BC).

This ambitious project brought vital wastewater infrastructure to the District of Tofino—one of the last remaining coastal communities on Vancouver Island without secondary treatment. The new system protects the sensitive Clayoquot Sound ecosystem and supports future growth in the region.

Led by WSP and procured through a progressive design-build model (PDB), the project was praised by ACEC-BC for its innovation, sustainability, and successful coordination with First Nations partners. NAC’s construction team played a critical role in delivering this complex project in a remote, environmentally sensitive location—overcoming significant logistical challenges, working closely with local stakeholders, and ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding area.

The ACEC-BC nomination highlights the strength of the team and the quality of work delivered on this transformative project.
