Tofino WWTP Wins VRCA Silver Award for Construction Excellence
We’re pleased to share that the Tofino Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), Sanitary Conveyance System Modifications and Marine Outfall project has been recognized with a Silver Award in the Vancouver Regional Construction Association’s (VRCA) 2025 Awards of Excellence.
Delivered in collaboration with project partners and local stakeholders, this transformative project brought long-awaited wastewater infrastructure to the coastal community of Tofino—enhancing environmental protection for Clayoquot Sound and supporting sustainable community growth.
NAC served as the General Contractor for this complex and highly collaborative build, overcoming the challenges of remote access, sensitive environmental constraints, and intricate marine works. The project team’s innovation, precision, and strong coordination were key to successfully delivering one of the most critical infrastructure upgrades on Vancouver Island.
This Silver Award places the Tofino WWTP project among the most outstanding construction achievements in British Columbia for 2025. It also reflects NAC’s ongoing commitment to project delivery excellence, partnership, and building better infrastructure for communities across Canada.
As a Silver Award winner, the project is now in the running for a Gold Award at the VRCA’s 36th Annual Awards Gala this September. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to celebrate this outstanding achievement.
Congratulations to the entire project team—and thank you to the VRCA for recognizing the work that went into bringing this important facility to life.
